There are many options for Bexley residents to access Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Services to look after their sexual and reproductive health needs.
We encourage residents to visit the Bexley Sexual Health website as it provides information that enables people to identify which service will best meet their needs; as well as, providing links for people to access self-sampling kits to test for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for themselves if appropriate; and prevention information about how residents’ can look after their SRH needs themselves.
Sexual ill health is not equally distributed in the Bexley resident population; therefore, specific services are provided that seek to reduce the health burden on some populations; for example, additional services for young people under the age of 25.
Depending on the residents’ need; services are provided in Bexley pharmacies, GP practices, enhanced SRH services in seven GP practices and via online/E-services.
In addition, Bexley residents are able to access services in any level three (complex case) services in the country; these services are mandated ‘open accesses – which means that residents’ do not need a referral from another service and can self-refer according to their needs. However, there is no level three service within Bexley, therefore, in April 2017, we instigated a satellite service provided by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust at the Albion Surgery in Bexleyheath, to provide an easy and convenient local service for residents’ to access.
Please see the Bexley Sexual Health website for more information.
