The Great Weight Debate held in Bexley in 2017 suggested that local residents wanted to see changes in the way obesity and in particular childhood obesity is addressed in the borough. The responses were varied and ranged from population level to individual level interventions. Many residents spoke about the amount of takeaways near them, some spoke about not having healthy alternatives when eating out, others highlighted the access to physical activity while others mentioned support in terms of care pathways.
